Forbidden Taste Chapter 29

Chapter 29: I could stay here forever

The following weeks unfolded like a dream for Alex and Maria, filled with small

adventures that turned into cherished memories. Each day, they found new ways to connect, be it through shared meals, late-night talks, or simple walks around the

neighborhood. Their bond continued to flourish, a steady rhythm that felt both

exhilarating and safe.

One afternoon, after an especially busy week filled with exams and art projects, Alex

suggested they take a mini getaway to unwind. “How about a day trip to the beach?” he

proposed, his eyes bright with enthusiasm. “We could pack some snacks and just enjoy

the sun and surf.”

Maria’s face lit up at the idea. “That sounds perfect! I’ve been craving the ocean air.

Let’s do it!”

They spent the evening preparing for their beach adventure, filling a cooler with

sandwiches, fruits, and drinks. Maria insisted on making a fruit salad, carefully cutting

up colorful berries and melon, while Alex took charge of packing the essentials—towels,

sunscreen, and their favorite beach games.

Early the next morning, they set off, the car filled with laughter and the sounds of their

favorite playlist. As they drove along the scenic route, the anticipation of a carefree day

stretched before them. Maria turned the volume up, singing along to the upbeat tunes,

and Alex couldn’t help but join in, their voices blending in joyful harmony.

When they arrived at the beach, the sight of the vast ocean and golden sand took their

breath away. The sun sparkled on the waves, creating a dazzling display that seemed to

invite them closer. “This is incredible!” Maria exclaimed, taking a deep breath of salty

air. “I can’t believe we almost didn’t do this!”

They spread out their blanket on the sand and settled in, the warmth of the sun

enveloping them like a comforting embrace. Maria pulled off her sandals and dug her

toes into the warm sand, a blissful smile on her face. “This feels amazing,” she sighed,

leaning back on her elbows.

“Let’s go for a swim!” Alex suggested, glancing at the inviting water.

“Race you!” Maria shouted, leaping to her feet and sprinting toward the ocean. Alex

laughed, chasing after her, his heart racing not just from the thrill of the run but from the

sheer joy of being with her.

As they splashed into the water, the coolness enveloped them, invigorating and

refreshing. They played and splashed each other, laughter echoing across the beach as

they let go of all the stress from their everyday lives. It was a carefree moment, pure

and unfiltered.

After swimming, they retreated to their blanket, drying off in the sun. Maria leaned

against Alex, her head resting on his shoulder as they shared a bag of chips. “I could

stay here forever,” she murmured, her voice drowsy and content.

“Same here,” Alex replied, wrapping his arm around her, pulling her closer. “Days like

this make everything else seem insignificant.”

As the afternoon wore on, they began to explore the beach, collecting seashells and

marveling at the beauty around them. Maria held up a particularly vibrant shell, her eyes

sparkling. “Look at this one! It’s perfect!”

Alex smiled, taking the shell from her. “It is. Just like you,” he said, his heart swelling

with affection. The moment felt charged, and he felt compelled to lean in, brushing his

lips against her cheek.

A soft blush spread across her face, and she looked down shyly, playing with the sand

between her fingers. “You always know what to say to make me smile,” she said, her

voice barely above a whisper.

“It’s easy when you’re around,” Alex replied, his heart racing. He wanted to say more, to

express the depth of his feelings for her, but he could only look into her eyes, hoping

she could see the love reflected there.

As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over everything, they found a quiet spot

to sit and watch the waves roll in. The beauty of the moment wrapped around them like

a soft blanket. Maria leaned against Alex, her head resting on his shoulder again, and

they shared the silence, feeling each other’s warmth.

“Can I tell you something?” Maria asked suddenly, her voice serious.

“Of course,” Alex replied, turning to face her.

“I’ve never felt this way about anyone before,” she confessed, her gaze steady and

sincere. “You make me feel safe, and I want to explore this… whatever this is, together.”

His heart soared at her words. “I feel the same way, Maria. I want to be with you, to see

where this leads us.”

Maria smiled, a soft, radiant smile that lit up her entire face. “I’m glad we’re on the same

page.”

Just then, as if to punctuate their moment, a flock of seagulls swooped overhead, their

cries mingling with the sound of the crashing waves. In that magical setting, Alex felt an

urge to bridge the distance between them, to turn their heartfelt conversation into

something tangible.

He leaned in closer, his heart pounding as he brushed his lips against hers, a gentle

and tentative kiss that sent sparks flying through him. Maria responded immediately,

melting into him, her hands finding their way to his hair as she deepened the kiss.

Time stood still as they kissed, lost in the warmth of each other’s embrace. The sun

dipped lower in the sky, painting the horizon in shades of orange and pink, but all they

could focus on was each other. It felt as though they were the only two people in the

world.

When they finally pulled away, breathless, they shared a knowing look, their hearts

racing in sync. “Wow,” Maria breathed, her cheeks flushed. “That was…”

“Incredible,” Alex finished for her, feeling a mixture of exhilaration and contentment.

“I could get used to this,” she said playfully, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

“Me too,” he replied, his smile widening. “I’m definitely on board for more days like this.”

As they continued to watch the sunset, the sky filled with vibrant colors, they held

hands, fingers intertwined as they basked in the glow of their newfound love. The

warmth of the sun slowly faded, but the warmth in their hearts only grew stronger,

illuminating their path forward.

After a while, they packed up their things, the day slipping into the quiet of twilight. As

they drove back home, their fingers still intertwined, Alex glanced over at Maria, who

was gazing out the window, a content smile gracing her lips.

“Thank you for today,” he said, his voice sincere. “It was everything I hoped it would be.”

Maria turned to him, her smile widening. “It was perfect. I feel so lucky to share these

moments with you.”

When they arrived back home, the house was still and quiet, a stark contrast to the

vibrant energy they had just experienced. They entered, both feeling a little reluctant to

break the spell of the day.

“How about we finish the evening with a movie?” Alex suggested, hoping to extend their

time together.

“That sounds great! Do you have any ideas?” Maria asked, already heading toward the

living room.

They settled onto the couch, choosing a lighthearted romantic comedy that matched

their mood. As the film played, they laughed together, sharing popcorn and stealing

glances at one another. The chemistry between them was palpable, every shared laugh

and whispered comment adding to the intimacy of the evening.

Halfway through the movie, Maria leaned her head on Alex’s shoulder, her presence a

soothing balm. He felt an overwhelming sense of happiness wash over him as he

wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer.

“Hey,” Maria said softly, interrupting his thoughts. “Can I ask you something?”

“Sure, anything,” he replied, tilting his head to meet her gaze.

“If we keep going like this, where do you see us in the future?” Her question was

serious, filled with a depth that made Alex’s heart skip a beat.

He took a moment to consider his response. “I see us continuing to grow together,

exploring everything life has to offer. I want to be by your side, to support you, and to

share all the ups and downs.”

Maria smiled, her eyes brightening. “I want that too. I can see us building a life together,

making memories, and just… being happy.”

With a sense of determination, Alex leaned in, his heart pounding. “Let’s promise to

always communicate and be open with each other. No matter what happens, I want us

to be honest and support one another.”

“Deal,” she replied, her voice filled with conviction.

As the credits rolled, Alex turned to her, a sudden surge of affection driving him to lean

in and capture her lips again in a tender kiss. It was soft at first, a gentle caress, but

soon turned deeper as they lost themselves in the moment. Maria responded eagerly,

her hands moving to cradle his face as they kissed, pouring all their feelings into that

one embrace.

When they finally broke apart, both breathing heavily, Alex felt as though they had

crossed another threshold in their relationship. “Wow,” he said, his voice thick with

emotion.

“Wow, indeed,” Maria echoed, her cheeks flushed and her smile radiant. “I could get

used to this.”

“Me too,” he said, feeling a sense of elation wash over him.

As they settled back into the couch, their hearts still racing, Alex couldn’t help but feel

that the future was bright for them. Their love story was just beginning, filled with the

promise of adventure, laughter, and a love that could withstand the test of time.
