Forbidden Taste Chapter 28

Chapter 28: Let’s Take a Picture

Suddenly, Maria turned to him, her expression serious. “You know, Alex, I’ve been

thinking a lot about us lately.”

Alex’s heart raced. “What about us?”

“I just… I want you to know how much you mean to me,” she said, her voice soft but

firm. “You’ve changed my life in so many ways. I never expected to feel this strongly

about anyone, especially not you.”

His breath caught in his throat. “I feel the same, Maria. You’ve brought so much light

into my life. I can’t imagine not having you by my side.”

As they stood there, the world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the two

of them, caught in a moment of vulnerability and honesty. With the sun casting a golden

glow around them, Alex felt an overwhelming urge to pull her closer.

“Can I kiss you again?” he asked, his voice barely a whisper.

Maria nodded, her eyes filled with anticipation. Slowly, he leaned in, their lips meeting in

a gentle, lingering kiss that sent butterflies swirling in his stomach. It felt as if time stood

still, their surroundings forgotten as they melted into each other.

When they finally pulled away, Maria’s cheeks were flushed, and Alex couldn’t help but

smile at the sight. “Wow,” he breathed, still caught up in the magic of the moment.

“Wow, indeed,” she replied, a shy smile playing on her lips.

They resumed their walk, their fingers intertwined, feeling as though they had crossed

an invisible threshold into something deeper. As they explored the park, they found a

cozy bench and sat down, watching the world go by.

“Do you ever think about the future?” Maria asked, her gaze fixed on the ducks

swimming nearby. “What you want to do, where you see yourself in a few years?”

Alex took a moment to consider her question. “I do think about it,” he admitted. “I want

to pursue my art and maybe even share it with the world. But more than that, I want to

create a life filled with love and laughter.”

Maria turned to him, her eyes shining with sincerity. “I want that too. I want to build a life

where we can support each other, where we can grow together.”

He smiled, feeling a swell of affection for her. “I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather have

by my side.”

Their conversation drifted from dreams to silly anecdotes, laughter punctuating their

words as they enjoyed each other’s company. As the sun began to set, painting the sky

with hues of orange and pink, they found themselves enveloped in a peaceful intimacy

that felt like home.

“Let’s take a picture!” Maria exclaimed suddenly, pulling out her phone. “We need a

memory of this day!”

Alex grinned, adjusting their position until they were nestled close together. Maria

snapped a few pictures, each click capturing the joy radiating from them.

“Okay, one more!” she said, moving in even closer, their cheeks brushing together. Alex

wrapped an arm around her, pulling her tight against him.

When Maria glanced at the screen to check the photo, she gasped. “This is perfect!

Look at how happy we are!”

Alex leaned over to see the picture, their faces lit up with genuine smiles. “We really

are,” he agreed, feeling a warmth spread through his chest.

As they packed up to leave, the sky darkened into twilight, and the stars began to

twinkle overhead. Alex looked over at Maria, his heart swelling with affection. “Thank

you for today. It was amazing.”

“It was,” she replied, her voice soft. “I love these moments with you.”

“Me too,” he said, taking her hand once more as they walked back to the car. “I’m so

glad we’re in each other’s lives.”

As they drove home, the air filled with comfortable silence, both lost in their thoughts.

Alex felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the bond they were nurturing, a

relationship built on trust, laughter, and love.

When they finally reached home, the house was quiet, the evening still fresh with

possibility. As they stepped inside, Alex turned to Maria, his heart racing. “Can we stay

up a little longer? I don’t want this day to end just yet.”

“Of course,” she replied, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “I have some cookies we can

bake!”

Together, they headed to the kitchen, laughter spilling from their lips as they rummaged

through the pantry for ingredients. The warmth of their shared laughter enveloped them

as they measured, mixed, and baked, creating a sweet treat to complement their day.

While the cookies baked, they found themselves standing close together, their bodies

almost touching. Alex turned to face her, his heart pounding. “You know, there’s

something magical about today. I feel like we’re building something beautiful together.”

Maria looked up at him, her gaze unwavering. “I feel that too, Alex. It’s like we’re

creating our own little world.”

In that moment, their eyes locked, and the air between them crackled with tension. With

their hearts racing, they moved closer, the unspoken words hanging in the air.

As if drawn together by an invisible force, Alex leaned in, capturing Maria’s lips in a soft,

tender kiss. It was sweet, filled with promise, and it ignited a fire within them both. The

warmth of the kitchen, the sweet scent of cookies, and the sound of their breaths

mingling created a perfect backdrop for their growing romance.

When they finally broke apart, both breathless, Maria smiled, her cheeks flushed. “Wow,

we really need to bake more often,” she teased.

Alex chuckled, the sound rich with warmth. “I’d happily bake cookies with you every day

if it means we get to share moments like this.”

Their laughter echoed through the kitchen as they continued their evening, baking

cookies and sharing stories, but they both knew that this was just the beginning. The

connection they shared was evolving, and with each passing day, they were writing a

beautiful love story—one filled with laughter, understanding, and a profound bond that

would carry them into the future.
